School Uniform 

General Appearance 

With the complete support of our parents and the co-operation of the students themselves, the uniform standard maintained at Goffs-Churchgate is excellent.

School Uniform Year 7 -11 

  • Graphite Grey Blazer with Goffs-Churchgate red braid and embroidered gold "G" (required and purchased from Hawkins) 
  • Black trousers of conventional cut (required but not from a specific retailer) 
  • White shirt – long or short sleeved (required but not from a specific retailer) 
  • Goffs-Churchgate School Tie (required and purchased from Hawkins) 
  • Grey V-necked jumper(optional but not from a specific retailer) 
  • Plain Black School Trousers (not from a specific retailer) OR a Black 4 Button Kilt (purchased from Hawkins) 
  • Black shoes (required but not from a specific retailer – sports footwear is not appropriate). 
  • Dark grey, black socks or black tights (required but not from a specific retailer) 
  • No jewellery is permitted except from one stud in each ear 

 

PE/Games Kit 

To be equipped for P.E. lessons students should bring the following items: 

  • Plain red polo shirt (required but not from a specific retailer) 
  • P.E. Shorts or leggings – black (required but not from a specific retailer) 
  • Plain black sports socks – (required but not from a specific retailer) 
  • Trainers (required but not from a specific retailer) 
  • Black swimming costume/shorts and a swimming hat (required for Year 7-9 only but not from a specific retailer) 
  • Football boots with moulded studs - suitable for use on grass and/or 4G Astro) and shin pads (required if students play football but not from a specific retailer) 
  • Long sleeved rugby top (optional but purchased from Hawkins) 
  • Goffs-Churchgate Mid Layer 1/4 zip Sports Performance Top (optional but purchased from Hawkins) 
  • Thermal tops or ‘skins’ are advised to be worn underneath during cold weather (required but not from a specific retailer) 
  • During the summer term, students are advised to bring sun block and a cap. 

 

Additional information  

  • Uniform should be worn correctly at all times, in school and to and from school.  
  • Shirts should be tucked in, and top buttons fastened. 
  • Girls may wish to wear cycling shorts underneath their kilt. Likewise, if student suffers from hypersensitivity as a result of autism, they may opt to wear black school shorts instead of trousers (not from a specific retailer). 
  • Coats can be worn at lunchtime in outside areas only. They should not be worn on transition to lessons. 
  • Hooded jumpers and sweatshirts are not a part of school uniform and should not be worn at any time.  At the end of the spring term Year 11 will have the opportunity to purchase a Goffs-Churchgate Leavers’ Hooded Top. Students who purchase this top will be able to wear this on site once issued after February half term, and for examinations. 
  • If students are injured and are unable to wear shoes, medical evidence must be submitted directly to the Principal, Miss Richardson who will issue a medical exemption card.  In such a case, the student will be permitted to wear plain black trainers for a limited time according to the medical evidence. 
  • Any parent/carer requiring financial support in purchasing uniform should contact the Principal, Miss Richardson  
  • Parents/carers can obtain second hand uniform at a significantly lower price at 15:05pm the last Thursday of each month in the Main Hall.
