PE
The PE curriculum aims to create an environment where students want to actively engage in physical activity. This is achieved through a varied and inclusive Physical Education program where every student develops their technique for fundamental practical skills but also has opportunities to develop other transferable skills like teamwork, leadership & communication.
Healthy Active Lifestyles
By providing a wide and inclusive program it will give students the opportunities to experience a range of different sports and activities. This will enable students to find something that they enjoy, which they want to continue further outside of the lesson, which will help promote a healthier more active lifestyle.
Transferable Skills
The Physical Education curriculum will give students the opportunity to develop a variety of key transferable skills. Participating in team games and other activities will provide students with the opportunity to develop team working skills such as co-operation and communication. Working in groups or teams also help students to develop leadership roles, which can help improve self-confidence. Competing against others will help provide opportunities to build resilience and playing within a set of rules will promote the values of respect and fair play.
