Science

To inspire curiosity, confidence, and scientific literacy, equipping students to understand and engage with the world around them. Through the study of biology, chemistry, and physics at Key Stages 3 and 4, students develop the knowledge, practical skills, and critical thinking needed to investigate phenomena, solve problems, and make informed decisions in their future careers and communities.

Our curriculum is designed to:

  • Foster curiosity and wonder about the natural world by encouraging students to ask questions, observe phenomena, and explore scientific concepts across biology, chemistry, and physics.
  • Develop practical and investigative skills, enabling students to carry out experiments safely and accurately, collect and analyse data, and draw evidence-based conclusions.
  • Build a deep understanding of scientific knowledge, including key concepts, processes, and interconnections across disciplines, so students can explain how the world works at both a macro and micro level.
  • Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving, equipping students to evaluate evidence, interpret results, make predictions, and apply scientific reasoning in real-world contexts.
  • Promote personal growth and responsible decision-making, helping students to understand the impact of science on society, health, technology, and the environment
