Digital Information Technology

Vision

The aim of our curriculum is to achieve digital fluency at their own pace. Students will receive tailored guidance and practical experience, fostering innovation and creativity. By empowering all students with the tools and confidence to excel in the digital age, we aspire to create a future where our students have the capacity to build their future through technology and possess the confidence to retrain in transferable skills, with computer science at its heart.

Overview

The intent of the Computing curriculum is to ensure that all pupils become confident, responsible and creative users of technology, equipped with the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

Our curriculum is designed so that pupils:

·Understand core principles of computer science, including algorithms, programming, data representation and logical thinking.

·Develop practical digital skills, enabling them to create, test and evaluate digital products using a range of software and programming languages.

·Use technology safely, respectfully and responsibly, with a strong emphasis on online safety, digital literacy and ethical use of data.

·Build resilience and problem-solving skills, learning to decompose problems, debug errors and refine solutions independently and collaboratively.
