Across this week (23rd to 27th August 2021), we are running our Year 6 into 7 Summer School.  This is a government-funded initiative to support students coming into Year 7 on the back of the disruption they have had due to Covid.  The days focus on numeracy and literacy development, alongside team building, getting to know you sessions, and Sports activities.  Across the week, 90% of our new Year 7 students have opted to attend these sessions which is excellent.  Thank you to all the staff involved

Alongside this, during the summer school, every student has the opportunity to have free swimming lessons at the end of each day with our swimming teachers, with the vast majority taking up this offer.  This is as a direct result of the funding secured from Sports England to promote sports in our school.  The funding will also allow us to run additional afterschool sports training in Swimming, Athletics, and Rugby next academic year for our students
